How We Got Started
The grand opening of the country market started on December 1. 1987 under the new management of Ray and Judie Giles. Ray and Judie had more than 20 years of experience in produce business, they started off in 1971 with the Route 588 Fruit Market and it remained open through 1988. In 1973 they opened up Soodak Wholesale which was ran by Ray and his brother Dave Giles it was located on 6th Street and 6th Avenue in Beaver Falls it remained open until 1977. In 1977 The Giles Fruit Market was opened up on Route 51 in Fallston and in 1987 it was sold to focus primarily on Town & Country. Ray and Judie took over Town & Country and ran it until 2019 when they decided to retire after 32 years in business.
They sold it to their grandson Stan Jr. and his wife Renee Giles and her parents Bob and Kim Jacob on May 19, 2019.
